What Do You Do?
Young's Transport specializes in shipping vehicles to and from FLORIDA.

We are located in Ft. Myers, FL and have trucks departing every week. Our main routes take us to the Midwest, However we can arrange shipments where your move takes you.

We know you have many choices when it comes to shipping your vehicle. This can be a very stressful search. But search no more.

Internet brokers that do not own any trucks are a dime a dozen and many come and go each year. They entice with super low pricing but keep in mind they still have to find a carrier that is willing to do the job at a loss.

Many times it is the client that is short changed when the broker has already taken their deposit and then change the price or even worse, just leave the vehicle sit.

Do you feel confident booking with someone who doesn't own a single truck? They may tell you they are "bonded" but keep in mind that bond does nothing to protect you. Brokers do not hold any type of cargo insurance because they do not have to.

Young's is a local company that is insured. We actually own trucks & we have our own drivers, unlike the typical "internet broker" who has no idea what it really takes to safely transport vehicles.

Come see for yourself. Stop by and say Hello! Don't trust your car to just anyone.

Collier County: 'It has probably been a record-setting season'

Late Easter, April cold mean longer stays for Southwest Florida visitors
A good gauge of the changing seasons is the number of car haulers spotted on local roads.
Jeanne Phillips, a dispatcher for Young’s Auto Transport Inc., off Alico Road south of Fort Myers, said business started picking up in March for seasonal residents returning up North, but it will remain strong through June.
It has been an unusual year, with more cars delivered later in season. “Normally, we would take a little breather in February and we never got that,” Phillips said. “They were still coming down.
I think they were just so tired from the snow.” Seasonal residents are also coming earlier than they used to. “It used to be they would come after Labor Day, and we saw quite a few booking in August this year,” Phillips said.
May is the company’s busiest month for hauling cars back up North and it has no more spots available until June. Its customers are mostly from the Midwest, and the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio and Michigan

Tourism season, 2012 strong for Collier tourism despite rising gas prices
Many seasonal residents use car transport services so they can go the way of the birds and fly home, with their cars delivered to their doorstep before they get back
Dana Miller, sole owner of Young’s Auto Transport Inc. in Naples, said her clients usually go back at the same time every year, no matter when Easter falls. She shipped out two truckloads of cars this week, or 18 of them.
“I have two weeks where it slows down,” she said. “Starting in April we will be shipping 30 and 35 a week,”

Loaded up and Truckin: Collier, Lee businesses busy hauling cars North. Some part-time Southwest Floridians head north in a plane but their wheels stay behind a little longer.
The annual migration of seasonal residents this time of year keeps vehicle transport companies busy. And, residents have found it more expensive to send their cars north, compared to a year ago.
A rise in fuel costs in recent months is to blame, said Dana Miller, owner of Young’s Transport Inc. in Naples, in business for 14 years. Last April, Miller said, she paid $2.80 to $2.90 per gallon to fuel her three auto carriers that get 4 to 41?2 miles per gallon. Today, she pays $4.20 per gallon. Truck insurance rates and costs for tires also have increased.
And she said, with rising costs for everyone, the public still wants to pay less for shipping vehicles. When she quotes a fee of $875 to $925 to ship from Naples to Detroit, which reflects about $200 in fuel surcharges over the last year, customers are shocked. They then call local or online brokers, who often quote lower costs.
The cars are then posted to a national car carrier board online with the hope that a trucker will “pick up” the call. Some complain that vehicles sit for weeks until a trucker picks them up and returns them to their northern home.

Auto transport companies are very, very busy
On Friday, workers hustled to load nine cars onto a truck at Young’s Auto Transport Inc. off Yahl Street in Naples. The truck was headed to Indiana.
“It’s the busiest month of the year,” said Dana Miller, whose father started the transport business in 1977. It’s so busy the company, which has four trucks, has had to turn away business.
“We can’t even keep up with it,” said Miller, a co-owner. “We could buy more trucks and not have enough. There’s so much business in Naples.”
This spring, the company expects to take at least 500 cars north at a rate of about 50 a week. Young’s Auto Transport primarily serves customers with homes in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.

Easter Sunday fell eight days earlier than last year. Businesses that cater to the seasonal crowd don't expect a migration out of town this week just because Easter happens to fall on the earlier date. Read more
